we started filming elders living with Alzheimer's Dementia.
We were shocked by how much change was needed-
Too many elders enter Nursing homes and quickly fade away.
Too many elders are abandoned and over-medicated-
Too many people profit from the lives and bloodstreams of our elders-
What we saw broke our hearts and angered us.

The top-down institutional approach, even with Music,
fails to connect people, families,
the generations and to create meaningful life. This must change.

The Alive Inside Coalition is helping create humanistic Elder Care.
What we are doing today with aging, commerce and being is not sustainable.
Our relationships to life, death and the biosphere must change.
There is no other option.
The Coalition can inspire communities to connect- intergenerationaly, musically, and relationally.
Our noncognitive wisdom: music, emotion and empathy, has sustained us for millennia. They still have gifts that can connect us.
AIF views Chronic Loneliness, an epidemic in elder life and modern life, as a crime, as abnormal.
We see Lonliness as a symptom. It is the way our beings, young and old, react to the "life-not-worth-living" we are told is our reality.
We can heal this way of thinking.
