We wrote this Mini-Guide to serve two functions:

One: To illustrate the power of music,
as a vessel of empathy,
capable of invigorating those previously thought to be lifeless,
Two: To also inspire the next generation,
to take a journey of awakening.

The fate of many living things hangs in the balance.

AIF provides “Alive Inside” and “Comm-University” tools and practices,
from hosting screenings in your communities,
creating youth/elder connections,
and sharing open-source practices emerging from communities all over the world.

After seeing the movie I am inspired to share the “music is medicine” message to my work team. In our company, we have a large number of nurses who work in home care and hospice and with special needs pediatric humans (first and patients second!) and I would love to see us implement this therapy and see those we work with come alive! Personally I have experienced music as healing and know it brings us to a better place emotionally. This is so needed! Thank you for creating this valuable work.

I am a Music Therapist and I recognize the value of music for all people and especially those who have dementia. I have observed the powerful effects of music during my career and as a volunteer.

I work at an assisted living/nursing community. Several of our residents have dementia or Alzheimer’s. I’ve watched the documentary three times. I cry every time. It breaks my heart. I started what I call Project MusicI with my dad. He now listens to his music ALL DAYLONG every day. Even when he is watching a movie! My second implementation was with one of my residents. I used my phone and headphones using Pandora. Within days, her daughter and son-in law brought an ipod with all her favorite music.

In short, I want to implement the program at my place of work, starting with our residents with the most severe dementia.

My parents both live in memory care and I have seen music lift their spirits and I want to help others.

Your Coalition is a blessing and I am grateful. I want to make a difference. I volunteer now in a nursing home leading an exercise class every week. But I want to make a huge difference and YOU are my method. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
